Identity packages for photographer, James May, FUEL FM and WAX. We won Calgary's first and only One Show Gold Pencil for the WAX identity.
I was lucky to have the opportunity to commission illustrator, Michael Schwab to do a special edition Calgary Stampede Poster. We used one of the original Stampede posters depicting the famous horse "I SEE U" for inspiration. Shin Sugino (the man who photographs all the Telus animals we love) helped me out with the Poison Control Centre poster. And some good old free stock images were used for the Calgary Farmers' Market campaign.
Different solutions for different clients.
My neighbour lady was nice enough to model for me. I gave her a cool garden gnome with an awesome six pack as a thank you.

Long discussions over the consistency of cow poo, photographing friends on toilets and putting your niece in a garbage can is just "a day in the life" of an ad person. I can't say university prepared me for this.

I've always enjoyed working on billboards. Adding 3 dimensional objects for extra impact is always a fun bonus. A huge moving tape measure, a larger than life midway game and a thrown cowboy crashing through the next billboard, are some the most memorable for me. But there's also something pleasing about the simple strategic headline execution.

I prefer pictures over words but the challenge of a thirty second story is very satisfying. I've been lucky to work with some talented writers over the years. Here's a few spots we collaborated on.

I'm guessing I've done at least 60 logos in the past 20 years - many I'm sure I've forgotten ever existed. Here's some of the more recent logos I've worked on.
I've worked with Steve Williams since my first job as a graphic artist decades ago. I've always described Steve as "writer's writer". He's very talented and is following his passion for writing novels. I'm flattered that he asked me to help out with his book covers.

One of the perks of doing work for an airline is that you "must" fly to sunny destinations for photo shoots.

Illustration is something I started dabbling in this past year. Hopefully I get the opportunity to do more in the future. As you can see Michael Schwab is an inspiration to me.

A website for a small coffee shop and a website for a large law firm. I managed to get yummy lattes out of both of them.
More websites to come, I promise. I have several in production and can't wait to share them.

Two campaigns for Brookfield Homes. One targeted towards renters and the other to promote their large bungalows - big enough for Sasquatch.
I love sports so I was quite excited when asked to design GRAF's junior hockey sticks and the BD&P bike jerseys.
